Child Services

Child Counseling Services

Many families and community professionals find themselves on an unexpected journey to help a child or adolescent overcome attentional and learning struggles or recover from a neurological injury.

Child evaluation services at CHS are designed to identify a child's unique neurocognitive and learning profile. Based on these findings, intervention services and remediation plans can be developed which aim to enhance areas of strength and minimize barriers to success.

Adult Services

Adult Counseling Services

Young adults, some of whom have had previous diagnoses of attentional and learning difficulties, may experience struggles as they try to address the increased challenges of college and work.  Evaluation, intervention, and consultation services are available for young adults transitioning into college or graduate school in order to provide documentation of learning or cognitive disorders as well as to develop intervention and cognitive remediation plans.

Services are also provided for older adults who may have concerns regarding memory functioning. Aging affects several domains of cognitive functioning; however, sometimes it may be difficult to understand what changes are “normal” versus those which may be related to neurological, hormonal, or psychological conditions. A neuropsychological evaluation can help differentiate between the effects of normal aging or neurologic related cognitive deficits from those associated with other conditions through careful review of medical history, interview, and evaluation.
